"Respecting diversity - strengthening community" - an interreligious-dialogical teaching project from Offenbach

The text introduces the school-project „Verschiedenheit achten – Gemeinschaft stärken“ („respect differences – strengthen community“), which was developed in a vocational school in Offenbach. The text describes the origin and core principles of the project. It analyses different dimensions of heterogenity and the didactic principle of the lessons. The project doesn’t concentrate solely on commonalities, but on the differences. To work with and to talk attentively about differences does not undermine the community but strengthens it. The article concludes with a description of some of the modules.
