The article addresses digital science communication in religious education in the context of postdigitality. It begins by discussing the theological self-understanding within the tension between hermeneutics and data-driven disciplines. This is followed by an overview of digitization in science communication, leading to a focus on four key areas relevant to theology: digital media, digital spaces, theological-ethical reflections, and digital transformation. In addition to an assessment of religious education research in the field of digital humanities, the article calls for a white paper with concrete guidelines.
