"Es gibt dreierlei Arten Leser:
Eine, die ohne Urteil genießt, eine dritte, die ohne zu genießen urteilt, die mittlere, die geniessend urteilt und urteilend genießt; diese reproduziert eigentlich ein Kunstwerk aufs neue."

J.W. von Goethe

English Editorial

„Theo-Web. Academic Journal of Religious Education“ aims at promoting research and academic discourse in the field of religious education.

It publishes contributions on all aspects of religious education, all locations of religious education and on theoretical issues of the academic discipline of religious education. The contributions may and should refer to the practice of religious education, but should be academic in character, reflecting empirical research, hermeneutical analyses or theoretical discourse. The journal includes regular book reviews. For English-speaking readers every issue offers an "Editorial and Summary in English".

„Theo-Web. Academic Journal of Religious Education“ is the official publication organ of the German Association of Religious Education Scholars “Arbeitkreis für Religionspädagogik e.V.” (AfR).

The AfR is an association of all Protestant academics working in the field of religious education at universities and research institutes in German-speaking countries. The AfR conducts its annual conference every September and its contributions are documented in “Theo-Web” for further discussion.

„Theo-Web. Academic Journal of Religious Education“ is a fully accepted academic online journal with peer-review and has been published since 2002.

“Theo-Web” is published twice a year on 1st June and 1st of December. It is an open-access journal and charges no fees. It is, however, an officially registered journal with an ISSN-Number (ISSN 1863-0502). Its volumes are regularly archived and its longevity is guaranteed. Its contributions are fully acceptable for quotation in academic contexts. The journal is part of academic journal rankings. Since 2010 the journal’s quality assurance measures include double-blind peer review (except for thematic editored issues and conference documentations, which are both reviewed by at least two editors).
